Our Clients R&D centre of excellence for SW development for this companies’ Medical Systems division is based in Edinburgh. They are creating technology and tools that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives; helping doctors to help their patients restore their health and well-being.
Currently looking for an IT Systems Manager to join their team. This position would suit an ambitious candidate who has a good technical background, existing team lead experience and who is looking for career growth.
Their office in Edinburgh has 150 staff, you will be leading a small team of IT engineers to provide IT systems and support for these staff is at the heart of the role. However, the position also gives the chance to pursue larger scale projects in conjunction with the global Medical R&D organisation.
The company also run global product development projects, working with international clinical collaborators and colleagues in Japan, USA, China and Europe, and they increasingly rely on your services to develop and operate those products.
To be successful in this position you will be an enthusiastic leader, who enjoys working as part of a team, has the drive to provide excellent customer support, and is still happy to get hands on with complex problem solving.
· You will have good experience of agile project management and a strong track record of delivery of IT systems development projects, including those involving management of 3rd party suppliers.
· Your technical background will give you a wide-ranging knowledge of IT and related systems including: networks, storage and compute solutions (virtualised on-premise and physical); equipment, tools and applications, in particular, communication and collaboration solutions; cybersecurity; systems maintenance & backup; customer support; and windows desktop and server administration.
· Specific experience of Cisco networking, Nutanix or VMWare, NVidia machine learning compute infrastructure, o365 and cloud architecture (Azure or AWS) and would be an advantage. Knowledge of Linux system administration is another plus.
