We are accepting applications from experienced Quantity Surveyors who want to be part of a global engineering consultancy, offering our clients full feasibility, design and construction services throughout the UK. Their Commercial Team are looking for experienced Quantity Surveyors to work alongside one of their major clients, Rolls Royce in Derby.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure cost control is maintained throughout all functions.
Support the project manager in respect of both project and commercial deliverables
Provide support and mentor Assistant Q.S within the respective Projects
Prepare sub contract tender packages, carry out comparisons and place relevant orders
Responsible for the management, collation, interpretation and analysis of project commercial records
Supporting the Investment Proposal (Target Cost) process through all of the key milestones
Production of monthly cost & value forecasts, including monthly project review reports
Identification of risks and opportunities to project spend / budgets
Provide sub-contractor management to Projects
Production of Impact assessments, early warning, risk expenditure and compensation event submissions
Manage the compliance and suitability surrounding processes and procedures on a project basis
Support the Lead QS in respect of wider issues
Liaising with the Project Accountants to establish accurate cost and cash neutrality reporting
You will be/have:
Formal Q.S Qualification (HND or BSc)
Experience in a similar role from a civils or M&E background
Excellent communicator
Good level of QS experience
Flexible and can travel when required
Knowledge of NEC construction contracts
Experience in the tender and target cost process and the review of such documents
Project experience, with involvement in change control and risk management
Strong IT skills with experience of databases and MS Office
