Purpose You will manage all matters relating to the day-to-day business and enabling the efficient operation of the business. To be responsible HR and People related matters, in conjunction with expert support from third party service providers – HR matters and Legal ensuring that Third Equation provides a safe working environment, has engaged and committed employees and complies with UK employment law. Primary duties HR · Lead the recruitment process, based on agreed organisational requirements: o Assisting the hiring managers with the preparation of job definitions o Identification of appropriate recruitment channels and managing these channels o Participation in interviews to assess non-technical candidate attributes and alignment with business need. · In conjunction with third party legal advisors, ensure that all aspects relating to UK employment law are strictly adhered to. · Lead the HR operations including payroll, benefits, personal performance reviews and company incentives. · Assume responsibility for all employee and contractors’ contracts. · Support and guide line managers on all HR related matters. · Ensure that all staff have adequate equipment to perform their duties. IT Working with third party service providers: · Maintain the appropriate connectivity provision to the offices. · Ensure that office equipment is operational and available to the business. · Specify and procure office related IT equipment. · Ensure that all staff have adequate equipment to perform their duties. Facilities · Ensure the safety of working in the building. · Provision of appropriate security measures through third party service providers · Responsible for managing access to the offices. · Managing the office environment – cleaning services, amenities provision · Securing best value for all building related services – security, utilities, waste disposal, parking Administration · Promote and demonstrate the company values, encouraging a corporate culture which is in line with Company values and supports the business achieving its milestones. · In conjunction with the CEO, determine the resources required to achieve the desired outcomes in areas of responsibility. · Develop and align processes, procedures, and policies within the IT, HR, Facilities and Office Management functions of the Company. · Ensuring the smooth running of the office and support the Director of R&D to ensure same for laboratory. · Managing all areas of administration, health & safety · Assisting with the Health & Safety requirements for the return to the office under COVID-19 related guidelines. Interfaces · CEO for business decisions relating to the areas of responsibility. · Head of Finance and Governance for payroll and HMRC tax related matters. · Third Equation Team as an active member for close cooperation in all aspects of the business. Skills · Relevant Degree or Vocational Training · 5 years’ experience in HR Operations/HR Management · Experience in managing payroll · Experience in managing third party service providers is essential. · Working knowledge of Office IT systems would be beneficial · Experience at board level participation would be beneficial · Experience in energy sector would be beneficial Competencies · Excellent communication – written and verbal · Proactive, self-organised, creative problem solver · Highly motivated · Can-do attitude · Confident at developing strong relationships both internally and externally.
