The R&D centre of excellence for our well-known Medical Systems client is based in Edinburgh, creating technology and tools that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives; helping doctors to help their patients restore their health and well-being. They employ 120+ in Edinburgh now and are growing slowly.
They now have a very exciting opportunity for a Technical Lead to join their image analysis group, whose product gives insight and understanding into medial image data.
Working with a long-established team of 25 scientific researchers, software engineers and clinical specialists who are responsible for the delivery of component software that gives insight and understanding of medical image data.
Your team covers a broad remit, spanning work on transforming raw data from medical scanners, to developing interactive applications for clinical decision making, to bringing forward new solutions in machine learning to give automated insights. All phases of the lifecycle are covered, from image analysis research, to development of new products and support of component software already out in the field.
To lead the Image Analysis group, you will need desire and energy, and the ability to inspire that in others. You'll be the sort of person who naturally engages with the life and culture of an organisation, and you will be happy to shape and influence it. You will already be great at getting the best out of people and you will have fully made the transition from being an individual contributor to being a manager. You will now feel ready to be a leader of leaders - or you already are one. You are starting to get involved in jointly developing strategic goals and then turning that strategy into execution. You can help to drive change, influence culture and take on additional responsibilities outside of just delivering your project scope.
You will be skilled in agile project management, have a strong track record of software delivery, and good commercial experience.
· Experience of medical imaging is an advantage but it’s by no means a pre-requisite. Looking for people who have knowledge of industrial or technological SW product development, particularly in a research and development setting. We add value through innovation and technical excellence so we are interested in your ability to manage scientists, engineers and clinical specialists in such an environment.
Salary £60-£80k dependant on experience and the client is happy to talk about flexible working.
